By no means do I condone another quagmire in the middle east in retaliation for Iran killing hundreds of American soldiers during the GWB Iraq War, but it should be known that Iran killed hundreds of American soldiers in Iraq, per Dexter Filkins, a journalist for the New Yorker.
I think this information is interesting when thinking about what George W Bush and Republicans really caused to happen with their war in Iraq. Essentially, Mr Filkins says...
- In GWB's Iraq War, we were essentially in a war with Iran for 8 years, with a Quds force commander leading this covert war from Iran.
- During that proxy war with Iran, Iran killed hundreds of American soldiers and inflicted severe pain on its arch-enemy, America, using Al Qaeda's technique of bleeding America literally and especially financially (it worked).
- Iraq and the Iranian-backed government it put in place are now critical to propping up Assad in Syria.
